opaque realities, translucent dreams
the omniscience of fairy-tale make-believes
which sing discordantly through leaves
of taller than tall trees
as she coughs down my sleeves
so many frowns drown
in the happy endings
of stories which finish
prematurely or abruptly
...i wish i'd died when we
were seventeen....
(i don't need my grass to be green)
