A lone wolf in black sheep’s clothing
Sadly, even the ‘King of Pop’ has to stop
Living some day
I’ll make you mine again, trust me
One day we will get naked
Then
Dive inside a road map, swimming
Until the page turns blue
At the ocean’s edge
I’ll kiss you as the wind licks your chest
And we attempt to guess whether it is
A shooting star or a jet
Yet decide to make a wish
Regardless
Of what life is like now, it’s all gonna
Change for the better soon, somehow
But right now I’m still this infamous
Reckless Recluse with not much
To do but try to touch
All the love I’ve lost inside
This sickly body of mine
And try to find that light that never
Ceases to shine; at the moment
I just can’t locate it-
We didn’t have kids
So we separated
There was no use in staying together
No need to brave the storm’s
Weather, so we just didn’t-
And all the American flags hung themselves
As trumpet’s blast ‘Taps’ in the distance,
In the background
I think I thought I heard a sound
Like your new boyfriend laughing
At me
The sound resounds down the streets,
And up the chimneys
Echoing against buildings
Until his high shrieked giggling
Comes bouncing back
To give me a smack just as
I turn the other cheek
